WRT-511 is a 2.4/5 GHz indoor unit, which firmware has been developed to fully utilize features, provided by great RTL-8650 chip. Unit has 5 integrated ethernet interfaces. Those interfaces can be easily slot in separatelly to WAN or LAN interface of the routing mechanism as well as wireless interface. In a special cases, just 2 (LAN/WAN) logical interfaces may not be sufficient enough for some application, so all ports can be configured for up to six separate devices, with own routing, IP address etc. Rate control and firewall can operate not only with IP level of the network, but also with hardware ethernet port itself. If the unit is used as a wireless client, this feature gives to the provider the ability to connect more different customers with separate speed classes and firmware rules, as well as block communication between their ethernet ports. Typical installation with this system is for example small office building. As well as on GWP-517VE, QoS system has been improved rapidly to keep up with contemporary needs of IP-Phone services, home security appliances etc.
