• Drafting & Detailing Software on Your Platform of Choice - IMPROVED
  Work on your platform of choice with licensing entitlements that give you the flexibility to activate either the Windows or Mac version of AutoCAD LT drafting software, regardless of which OS version you purchased. You can switch from one OS to the other, with a maximum of two activations per year.
• Customisation Synchronisation - NEW (Windows only)
  Use Customisation Sync tools to make your custom settings and files available on home computers or other workstations. Use your online Autodesk Cloud account to upload personalised settings including workspaces, CUI files and keyboard shortcuts and then download them to another computer.
• Property Edit Preview - NEW
  Get a dynamic preview of edits made with the Properties or Quick Properties palette before applying them to selected objects. See the effect of modifying properties such as colour or linetype to evaluate options quickly before you make changes.
• Command Line - IMPROVED
  Your standby, the command line, now offers even more functionality and configuration options. Dock it at the top or bottom of the screen, or float it transparently over the drawing window. View your command history, access recent commands and activate options within commands easily by clicking on them at the command line.

  Access commands more efficiently with Auto-Complete. As you type at the command line or the dynamic input field, AutoCAD LT displays a list with possible command names or aliases. Use the arrow keys to navigate to your choice or use the mouse to select a command from the list.

  Access commands relevant for selected objects easily with multifunctional grips. For polylines, splines, hatches, lines, arcs, dimensions and multileaders, simply hover over a grip to see available options.
• Combine Objects with Groups
  The Group feature makes it easy to create, modify and use groups. Objects in groups can be selected and edited together or individually as needed. This is different to objects in blocks, which, outside of the Block Editor, can only be selected and edited as a unit.
• Customise the User Interface
  Tailor your drafting environment to fit the way you work. Drag and drop screen elements to match your preferences or use the Customise User Interface (CUI) editor to control the precise location, appearance and function of command icons and to personalise mouse actions and keyboard shortcuts. Create new command sequences as required and place them on panels or toolsets for easy access.

  The Quick View feature shows you thumbnail images of open files, so you can go easily to the drawing and layout you need.
• DesignCenter (Windows only)
  Use DesignCenter to access drawings, blocks, layers and other content on your computer, your company's network or the Internet. Just drag-and-drop the items you find into your current drawing.
• Content Palette (Mac only)
  Use the Content Palette to access blocks and symbols in the current drawing or in Favourites and Libraries that you can manage. Just drag-and-drop the items you find to add them to your design.
• Dynamic Input
  Dynamic Input helps you to keep your focus on the drafting area with tooltips that display information near the cursor. The information you see changes as you move the cursor or work with commands.
• Hide or Isolate Objects
  Use the Hide Objects and Isolate Objects tools to control objects' visibility regardless of layer, so you can focus on the objects you need. You can also combine functions to isolate some objects and hide some of those that remain.
• Select Similar Objects or Add Selected Object
  The Select Similar tool enables more efficient selection of objects with similar properties. Use the Add Selected feature to create a new object quickly with the same properties as an existing object.
• Organise Layers in 2D Drawings
  Organising your drawing content with layers enables you to control the on-screen and plotted appearance of similar objects. For example, if you place all the text in your 2D drawing on a separate layer, you can change the colour of all the text objects by simply changing the layer colour. Turn the text layer off to view or edit other information in the drawing.
• Measure Geometry
  Measure the distance, radius, angle, area or volume of a selected object or a sequence of points with tools and receive visual feedback of the results.
• Built-in Calculator
  Use the QuickCalc calculator to perform calculations, convert units and derive values from drawing entities. In Windows, QuickCalc is available as a palette. In Mac, the calculator is available with the CAL command.
• Editable UCS Icon
  The UCS (User Co-ordinate System) icon now supports direct manipulation. Select the icon, then use multi-functional grips to move or rotate the current co-ordinate system.
• Multiple Locations for Plot Support Files
  The Files tab of the Options dialogue supports multiple folder locations for Printer Support files including CTB, STB and PC3 files. This provides you with more options for managing your plotting, whether by office location or client standards.
• Cover Flow Navigation (Mac only)
  Use the graphical file previews of Cover Flow navigation to flip through files in a folder and find the one you need.
• Multi-touch Gestures (Mac only)
  Use the familiar pinch and swipe gestures to zoom and pan through your drawing files with a Mac trackpad or Magic Mouse.
• Autodesk Content Explorer (Windows only)
  Find your design content quickly based on file objects or text attributes. Autodesk Content Explorer creates an index of your data on local and network drives, helping you to access files quickly.
• Tool Palettes (Windows only)
  Place your frequently used content, such as CAD blocks, hatches, and commands, on Tool Palettes to save time. Tool Palettes also make it easier to maintain drafting standards, as you can insert content in the proper layer with the correct scale, linetype, colour and other attributes.
• Migrate Settings (Windows only)
  Autodesk provides several migration tools to make it easier to upgrade to AutoCAD LT 2013 from an earlier version. The Migrate Custom Settings dialogue appears when you first start AutoCAD LT 2013 drafting software and assists with the transfer of your custom files, including linetypes, hatch patterns, command aliases and CUI files.
• Online Licence Transfer Utility (Windows only)
  Import and export stand-alone licences between computers with the Online Licence Transfer (OLT) utility.
• Reset Settings Tool (Windows only)
  You can return AutoCAD LT to default settings even if you have customised your installation with the option of backing up your customised settings and files for later use.
• Prompt for SHX Files (Windows only)
  Save time with the option of ignoring missing shape or font files when opening a drawing. Text styles with missing fonts are now identified with an icon in the Text Style Manager.
